Wealden Link

A Case Unanswered PDF Print

 L-Ureport

The Wealden Line Campaign has now published its response to the 2008 Lewes-Uckfield Railway Line Reinstatement Study.

This sets out the background to the commissioning of the Study, the composition of the Central Rail Corridor Board and how the various processes were conducted.

Far from being in any way conclusive, we think the Study has paradoxically raised more questions than it has answered.

We hope you will find our response interesting and will tell all your colleagues and friends to likewise read it.

You can also print off a complete copy using the free Adobe pdf reader program (see link in our Downloads Section). It is a large 14.5Mb file as it contains many photos and illustrations within its 20 pages, so please be patient while the download takes place.

Once loaded, use the scrollbars and icons within the display to view or print out the report.

Comments

"Uckfield deserves to have the best when it comes to infrastructure, no better example of this is the case for improved rail transport. We have been systematically let down regarding developments to reinstate the link to Lewes and it is now time for steps to be taken to do something positive. Those who might try will never stop us, we will continue to fight for this vital initiative until we have safely secured the reinstatement of our railway."

Cllr Louise Eastwood, Mayor of Uckfield (February 2009)
